If I don’t get right back to you, it’s likely because I let the laundry get down to Craig’s last pair of threadbares again or, like, the children need something. tsk. I’ll brb!

Somewhere in the dusty recesses of my toddler-clouded memory I remember that I messaged you a while back to thank you for keeping such an excellent blog and to mention that I am also Catholic, have three boys the ages of your youngest three and was gifted by my parents a remarkably similar name (Caroline)- so similar that I am often called your name instead of my own, but I digress.

After baby #3 I developed hip and neck pain so intense that I could not walk, carry children or get up the staircase, and was this past week tentatively diagnosed with….ankylosing spondylitis. Oh happy day. At the risk of being totally invasive I wanted to ask if you’d mind sharing what has helped you get back to functioning. I’m scared to death of suppressing my immune system, worried about steroids but at the end of my pain tolerance rope. My doctor has suggested many splendid things, all of which sound so splendid that I can’t bring myself to trust her. Any insight would help.

Thank you for writing and for sharing, it has made a difficult journey feel much less lonely.

Hi Carolyn, I just wanted to say I love your blog so much. I love your style! I hope you are feeling well. I have 4 boys who are your boys’ ages, or thereabouts, and three kids who are older (boy, girl, girl).
I can relate a lot to what you write about being a mom of 4 boys in a row, which is so much fun! I love all things art too!! Anyways, I just wanted to say hi!
